AGONY

Life in the eyes, the heart and the mind of a Poet.

AGONY

Nightmares dominates my night, and darkness my day
As you are not with me, here to stay or here to pray
Thoughts of you always stir me, the skies to stare
When in my cries you cannot spare a hand of care.

Goose pimples reign as cold runs through my spine
Each time you’re horribly whisked away with’ a wine
And left alone with foes, no friend with you to share
Memories and bounties that life  nurtures in our welfare.

Ah! Ah!! Ah!!! The cry reigned and I stooped and looked:
The agony of pains linger on, in silent shadows hooked
As I watched you, limp and roll in rags of eerie misery
In pain provoking agony, that leaves me on prowl leery.

YOUR BEST DAY

Life in the eyes, the heart and the mind of a Poet.

To my friend, my brother, fellow poet and philosopher, JOSHUA MIMANA; this piece is dedicated as he celebrates his birthday today. Happy birthday, my brother.

YOUR BEST DAY

Your best day is the day of your birth

When life has come out from womb of death

And the sun begins the measure of time

In the course of moving through the clime

Love, this is your best day

When you’ve got an improved pay

Without kneeling before Grace to pray

In the speed of the flashing ray

Rejoice, oh Love, without worries of pain

And bath away failures in the showers of rain

From the heart of heaven, and heart of men

Who have come to chorus prayers in your pen

YOU

Life in the eyes, the heart and the mind of a Poet.

How pleasant the feeling is
When you know
Someone likes you
Someone needs you
Someone feels you
But how pleasurable the joy is
When you know
Someone loves you
And cares for you

How beautiful the feeling is
When you know
Someone works for you
Someone prays for you
Someone fights for you
But how amazing the wonder is
When you know
The earth supports you
And cares for you

How splendid the splendor is
When you know
Someone needs Grace
Someone needs Peace
Someone needs Truth
And how thrilling the joy is
When you know
The brilliant sun in you
And shines its light outside you

How dark the darkness is
When you know
Someone needs your light
Someone needs your clutch
Someone needs your water
And how saddest the evil is
When you know
The sun is shielded by you
And the water is withheld by you

ALL FOR ONE

Life in the eyes, the heart and the mind of a Poet.

ALL FOR ONE

Just for one
Who has become
A hermit for his cause
A warrior for his faith
An inspiration for the faithful
The land is laid waste, all for one.

Washington has placed
A premium price on his head
As the most dangerous man on earth
Who in his solo prayers has killed thousands
In a day, than they have done in weeks
And all for one
They prowled and lurked in endless siege
Of mountain ranges and desert vast
For over a decade, they searched for his head
And when they got the god at last
They laboured for DNA test
To confirm his mortality
Before his burial among the fishes of the ocean.

What of the human factors,
The gold and time that the effort
Has consumed while the hunting lasted?
Does the noise of his death match the waste
Invested in terror hunt of the feared outlaw?
The victory acclaimed is vanquish
Vanquish a victory; all for one.

NOT AT MY HOME II

NOT AT MY HOME II

Let their tears rain at the markets,
Their rage at the pens,
But, not at my home
For they strive to fill their pockets
With bloods flowing from the dens.

Let their tears rain at the shrines,
Their sorrows at the fields,
But, not at my home
For their tears are as salty as brines
Their labours as deserts without yields.

Let their tears rain at the forests.
Their woes at the squares,
But, not at my home
For they have awakened the tempests
And bring the cultures out of squares.

Let their tears rain at the deserts,
Their cries at the lakes,
But, not at my home
For they’ve deformed nature with inserts
And drain blood to bake cakes.

SOME PEOPLE

Some people make me happy
When they come
Some make me happy
When they stay
And some make me happy
When they go
Yet some make no difference
Whether they come, stay or go

Some people make me sad
When they come
Some make me sad
When they stay
And some make me sad
When they go
Yet some make no difference
Whether they come, stay or go

Some people raise my hope
When they come
Some raise my hope
When they stay
And some raise my hope
When they go
Yet some make no difference
Whether they come, stay or go

Some people open my eyes
When they come
Some open my eyes
When they stay
And some open my eyes
When they go
Yet some make no difference
Whether they come, stay or go

Some people let my stream flow
When they come
Some let my stream flow
When they stay
And some let my stream flow
When they go
Yet some make no difference
Whether they come, stay or go

Some people feel my warmth
When they come
Some feel my warmth
When they stay
And some feel my warmth
When they go
Yet some feel no difference
Whether they come, stay or go

Some people are enriched
When they come
Some are enriched
When they stay
And some are enriched
When they go
Yet some have status unchanged
Whether they come, stay or go

MY ONLY SOPHIA

Through the window of my hovel
In the vista of the eastern horizon
I beheld the radiant of your look
A look, as charming as the beauty of Venus
A look, as bright as the brightness of the Moon
A look, as penetrating as the gaze of the Sun
For you, and you alone
I have floated on air
As a cloud of the firmament
For you, and you alone
I have flown round the orb
With the wings of an eagle and the eyes of Horus
In swiftness of the swift, and speed of the lightning
Singing in my heart, the songs of the Nightingales
Just for you, Sophia, and you alone.
The long and wide rivers, I have crossed
The vast and deep oceans, I have swum
The hot and waste deserts, I have traversed
The huge and high mountains, I have scaled
For you, and you alone
I have been baptized in the seas of Neptune
For you, and you alone
I have walked through the fiery sphere of Aten
For you, and you alone
I have shattered the gates of Pluto
I have maimed the keepers of the gates
And slain the gods of the underworlds
For you, and you alone
The elements have obeyed my commands
The divinities have come to my assistance
The principles have worked for my pleasures
The nature has released its benevolent cares
The sharks have not hurt me
The storms have not deterred me
The beasts have not scared
For Sophia, my beloved Sophia
On beckoning, has revealed herself to me
In all her resplendent beauty
That my eyes could behold
In all her charming love
That my heart could feel
In all her pristine wisdom
That my mind could conceive
In all her glaring perfection
That my soul could perceive
And awake!
Awake!!
Awake!!!
My soul, awakened from sleep
Longs for his spouse, Sophia
My soul, awakened from sleep
Longs to take her home
My soul, awakened from sleep
Longs to build her a temple
Within the palace of my castle
The temple that in splendour
Will surpass the landmarks of the ancients
The temple that in splendour
Will neither be described by the science of
Pythagoras, Leibnitz and Newton
Nor by the arts of Thoth, Hermes, and Plato
The temple that in splendour
Will only be matched by the beauty of Sophia
My only Sophia, the Queen of my life.
